Minister of Education, Nyeson Wike, has said that HIV can be eradicated with synergy among education stakeholders.
The minister, who said this during the annual ministerial speak-out programme held at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed joy about success recorded by the “forum for cross fertilization of ideas on HIV&AIDS/School health issues and concerns.”
Represented by Director Basic and Secondary Education, Chike Uwuaezuoke, the minister said the event was in fulfillment of the ministry’s mandate in national HIV and AIDS response to prevent new infection among young people and mitigate the effect of AIDS among young people.
He said the youth speak out programme is an evaluative strategy where the ministry is trying to know from the voice of the students whether the teachers have actually taught the students well, the family life HIV and AIDS education curriculum.
