With his constituency project on skills acquisition training for Youths in Imo, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, has trained about 100 Imo State youths on engineering technology.
He disclosed this during the recent first graduation ceremony of the first batch at the Metallurgical Training Institute (MTI), Onitsha.
The Deputy Speaker reiterated his commitment to empower the youths to rediscover and re-acquire skills that would help them create wealth, become reliant for industrial growth of the nation, national development and poverty eradication.
He expressed regret at the level of unemployment in Imo state, which he said motivated him to embark on emancipating the young generation through his numerous empowerment programmes, which have benefitted more than 5000 youths of the state.
In his address, Ranti Ajamolaya, the Director of the Institute described the Deputy Speaker as youth-friendly, noting that by training the 100 Imo youths, he has given Imo youths the vision and equipped them with the tools for self-reliance so as to contribute their quota towards the nation’s rapid industrialization.
