Benue Set To Generate 10mw Of Electricity

The Benue Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Mr Emmanuel Manger has disclosed  that the State Government had commenced a process to generate 10 megawatts of electricity. He said the move was part of the state’s industrialisation policy.

The commissioner said it had become necessary for the state to source extra power supply to boost its industrial drive.

“The main challenge of industrialisation remains poor electricity supply. When completed, the project will benefit the industrial layout in Makurdi and increase power supply to other parts of the state,” he said.

Manger said that the ministry would set up a department of energy to ensure the success of the scheme.

“We have had meetings with investors and they are willing to invest in the state for green energy supply,” he stated.
